A Little Less Lonely

Atomic

We hung the stars here & we’d dust them off each evening as the dusk waltzed in,
A welcome sign for the city.

We’d invite them into our world, an oasis for the eccentric.
An award winning experience.

The years have slipped away into pastel cocktails,
adorned with floral platitudes.

We lost ourselves in a jungle of our own creation,
This civilization we built began to overshadow us.

Until we ended up… here.

Anticipating our supernova, counting down the days
when the stars will come down and the jungle is deserted.

Until all that is left is you and me.
